| Briefing to democratic leadership on security matters to pave way for national approach: PM |  |  |  |
| ISLAMABAD, May 11 (APP): Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani on Wednesday said that it will be the second time in the history of the country that the democratic leadership are being briefed by the concerned authorities on national security matters. He added that it would pave the way for a national approach on issues of national security. The Prime Minister was talking to Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah who called on him here at the PM House on Wednesday. The Prime Minister said that the government is aware of its obligations regarding the supreme national interests and a viable consensus approach would be evolved through collective wisdom. He said that Parliament is the right forum to discuss and debate on various national issues and the democratic norms demand that this practice must be adhered to strengthen democracy and democratic culture. While commenting on the fight against terrorism, the Prime Minister said that it is not limited to any country and has no boundaries while the militants have no nationality. He said that Pakistan suffered the most in this fight against terror and our sacrifices must be duly recognized. The Chief Minister Sindh apprised the Prime Minister about the current law and order situation in the province. He also briefed the Prime Minister about the steps taken for improvement in the security situation as well as development works in the under-developed areas. |
